Solar Pictures Teams with Tom Hardy on “Samarkand”.

Hardy will portray a soldier returning from the Middle East in a story about the problems of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Script has been written by brothers Greg and Olly Williams. The project has been developed by Hardy, Bobby Paunescu of Solar Pictures and the Williams brothers.
Greg Williams is set to direct “Samarkand” as his debut feature. His short film “Sergeant Slaughter – My Big Brother,” starring Hardy, won directing awards at the New York, Chicago and San Francisco Short Film Festivals.
Solar Pictures launched last April with the goal of producing four to five movies a year with budgets up to $40 million. Los Angeles-based Solar announced in October that it had closed deals to finance and produce several movies including “Jet Black” and “The Girl Who Knew Too Much,” which will shoot this year.
